Fiber Beat Video Supplement 3: Magic Loop! Media Link: Video Supplement 3: Magic Loop! (10:54) You can now watch it at Vimeo or with the inline player below.
Fiber Beat Video Supplement #3, The Magic Loop from WonderMike on Vimeo. ![]() There's a million crafters in Fiber City and we've all got a yarn to spin. Welcome new listeners and viewers to our next Video Supplement to Fiber Beat, Number 4. This episode we feature the unvention of Sarah Hauschka, The Magic Loop. This knitting technique allows one to work circularly on any size project whose circumference measurement is smaller than that of the total needle length. The bonuses are that you only use one long circular needle and you eliminate those pesky ladders that can form when using double pointed needles (DPNs). The following items were mentioned and referenced in the Video Supplement:
Don't forget about the Fiber Beat CONTEST for Episode No. 4 I have 1 bag (enough for a full sweater) of Zitron Unisono. It has been generously donated by Skacel Knitting for this episode's contest. All you need to do is tell us your most ambitious project (can be any level/fiber medium). Be sure to include pictures or links to your Ravelry project page, Flickr, etc. To enter, please leave your comment on fiberbeat.com or on the Fiber Beat Ravelry forum. The winner will be randomly selected from all the entries. DEADLINE FOR ENTERING IS JANUARY 21, 2010. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who downloaded and listened to the first six episodes (audio & video) of Fiber Beat. - I always wanted to learn Magic Loop, but since I like DPNs, I just never got around to it. After watching your wonderfully informative and clear video, I totally get it and would be able to Magic Loop by myself. Especially since I bookmarked this page!!! Thanks so much.
- Most ambitious project? I\'m gonna go with the first (and, as yet, only) sweater I knit for my husband. It was a test of my patience (pullover for a 6\'2\" man on size 4 needles!) as well as my first experience with seaming, but it turned out well and he wears it all the time.
Pattern: \'Leo\' from Knitty.

Love the videos! I love the spindles & yarn in the background! The videos are very professional looking. Can\'t wait to listen to the audio podcasts. Great Job!!

- I love to knit. 12 years ago I knit an full size aran afghan of my own design for my son and his bride as a wedding gift. I adore the challenge of drawing out the patterns I want to use and planning the cables twists so that they twisted in sync.
Please tell Brian not to fuss over his size 12 socks...my Dad wears a size 14/15 shoe and I knit socks for him regularly. Photo of socks on my blog in the older posts.
